Instructions
Cream butter and cream cheese until fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract
Combine flour and salt
Add in 1/4 of flour mixture to cream cheese mixture until blended. Repeat until combine
Chill dough for at least 30 minutes until it is easy to handle
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
On a floured surface, roll dough 3/8th inch thick
Cut out 2 in circles. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Make a thumbprint in each cookie. Fill with filling. (Be careful not to overfill)
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until browned on edges
Mods:
Use a pastry cream instead of fruit filling
Dust with powdered sugar
Use a different shaped cookie cutter (cook time may vary)
